V 76. letu starosti je umrl nekdanji angleški nogometni reprezentant in selektor Kevin Keegan, eden največjih nogometnih zvezdnikov v sedemdesetih letih prejšnjega stoletja.
Žalostno novico je sporočila njegova družina in poudarila, da je bil Kevin ljubljen mož, oče in dedek, obenem pa se je zahvalila zdravstveni ekipi za podporo in oskrbo v težkih trenutkih njegovega življenja.
Keegan je med letoma 1971 in 1977 blestel v dresu Liverpoola. V domovini je igral tudi za Southampton, Newcastle in Blackburn, v tujini pa za nemški HSV. Za angleško reprezentanco je odigral 63 tekem in dosegel 21 golov.
Keegan je tudi dvakratni dobitnik prestižne nagrade zlata žoga za najboljšega nogometaša na svetu v letih 1978 in 1979.
Po koncu igralske kariere je zaplul v strokovne vode ter vodil Newcastle, Fulham in Manchester City, med letoma 1999 in 2000 pa je bil tudi selektor Anglije.
