Potniška ladja Mein Schiff 3 je v nedeljo odplula proti Kanarskim otokom, ko jo je močan sunek vetra potisnil proti dvema kontejnerskima ladjama, zasidranima ob pristaniškem zidu, poroča nemška tiskovna agencija dpa. Ena od kontejnerskih ladij je bila v trčenju močno poškodovana, druga pa je utrpela le manjšo škodo. Večjo škodo je utrpela tudi ladja za križarjenje.

Strong winds reportedly pushed the massive liner toward the cargo ships. More than 3,300 people were on board. The collision damaged the cruise ship's lifeboats and reportedly left a roughly 10-meter hole in the hull of one of the container vessels. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the planned cruise to the Canary Islands had to be canceled. V trku po navedbah policije ni bil poškodovan nihče, prav tako v plovila ni vdrla voda, saj je do poškodb prišlo nekaj metrov nad gladino morja. Ladja Mein Schiff 3 se je po trčenju vrnila v terminal za potniške ladje, vsem trem plovilom pa so prepovedali izplutje iz pristanišča. Podjetje TUI Cruises, ki upravlja s potniško ladjo, je danes sporočilo, da so križarjenje zaradi nesreče odpovedali.
